A group of psychologists founded HOKEBAN in Yerevan in 2002. Their purpose was to help establish channels of communication between Armenian psychologists worldwide, create collaboration networks through leading edge technology platform, pursue projects that benefit public mental health, the science & practice of psychology in the Republic of Armenia and its sister state of Artsakh. The plan distinctly aimed to include psychologists of other cultures and specific programs geared to establish working relationship with other psychology organizations on a global basis.
Since its inception, the organizational structure & the objectives have further developed. Psychologists in Armenia & elsewhere express great interest in its charge & propose new ideas. Public organizations have come forth with requests for training, supervision & intervention.
HOKEBAN will collaborate with local universities, organizations and government departments to pursue objectives within the academic & public service fields. Due to recent turmoil in the region, a global approach in professional psychology to the creation of HOKEBAN for Armenia is timely & much needed.

OBJECTIVES
• Establish channels of communication among international psychologists & psychology organizations of other countries
• Promote scientific collaboration based on international standards for research ethics
• Present recent research findings at international conferences
• Organize conferences on the science & practice of psychology
• Facilitate development of psychological tests & measurements in Armenian language for children & adults in Armenia
• Sponsor surveys & research relevant to social development & public mental health
• Provide information to the public on current psychological issues
• Help establish professional standards & ethical norms for psychology
• Provide continuing education, training & supervision
• Focus on needs of children, women, workers and families in a social development context
• Implement specific development & training programs in regions of Armenia
• Collaborate with professional ngos in Armenia
• Collaborate with local Universities & Government Departments
